Thank you for visiting CASA’s Hubs of Innovation (HOI) project! As we continue to build the program for its Fall 2009 launch we look forward to the opportunity to meet the needs of the hundreds of children and families we serve and the countless others who will interact with us through the HOI site.

We also look forward to the ultimate findings of the program as we consider the way in which the introduction of access to information technologies and the fostering of cognitive competencies affect underserved communities who have historically been disconnected from this access and the new phenomenon of digital social networking. Therefore, this project will be vigorously studied by our CASA research team headed by Dr. Olga Vásquez (UCSD Department of Communications), and consisting of UCSD undergraduate and graduate students, and affiliates across the state (UC Links), the country (UT Austin, UT San Antonio, and Rice), and even the globe (UNAD in Columbia, and similar projects in Norway, Spain, and Portugal). And it will also continue to collaborate with the twenty plus higher education, community, and corporate partners that make CASA’s work possible.
