LCM collaborates with Community Housing Works, a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing, to provide educational activities that promote computer literacy for the children of the Orange Place Cooperative apartment complex in the city of Escondido. Children ages 5-17 attending the complex’s Homework Assistance Program participate.

LGD at Orange Place was developed after a request from the adult residents for a program that addressed their specific needs. Adult learners participate in sessions where they learn fundamental typing skills, software, and Internet proficiency in order to further their success in the job market.
Hubs of Innovation, Beginning Fall 2009
Orange Place Learning Center will host the Health & Nutrition hub of the new Hubs of Innovation project.
